Aung La N Sang (aka The Burmese Python) was born on May 21, 1985 in Myitkyina, Myanmar. He grew up in Yangon, the capital city of Myanmar until 2003 when he moved to the USA for college and later a career in Mixed Martial Arts(MMA).
He started training MMA in 2004, before UFC and MMA became main stream and global. In college, he studied Agriculture Science at Andrews University(AU) in Berrien Springs, Michigan and worked at a dairy farm at AU. In college, he would drive three times a week to South Bend, Indiana to a Carlson Gracie Affiliate school to train. There he fell in love with Brazillian Juijitsu and MMA. Then, in 2005 he had his first fight and ten years later he has now over 26 professionals fights. With 16 wins all coming by a way of Knock Out and a Submission, he is an exciting fighter who is sure to please the crowd.
After college, while searching for a job in the summer of 2007, he stumbled upon Crazy 88. He trained with Master Julius Park for two months but soon left to become a beekeeper in Felda, Florida. After spending a year an a half traveling the country as a migratory beekeeper, he realized that he needed professional training if he ever wanted to become a world class MMA fighter. That’s when he made the choice to move back to Maryland and join Crazy 88 MMA.
Aung La is a Bellator and One Championship veteran who holds KO wins in both promotions and is currently fighting for One Championship. Due to travel issues and immigration changes, Aung La is on 16 months lay off from competition. During this time, he still training 6 days a week and is improving his skills in Muay Thai, Brazillian Jui-jitsu, boxing and wrestling. On a personal side, during his time off he also got married, welcomed a son into the world and is coaching full time at Crazy 88 MMA. It is a privilege for him to be an athlete for Total Athlete Nutrition and he is eager to make a statement in 2016.
Ben currently trains 3-4 days a week at Merritt Athletic Club in Federal Hill and at his strength and conditioning coach's (Jay Dyer) facility in Cockeysville, MD
